Welcome to my Garden Sun
Full
pH
6.4-6.8
Ideal Range
Maturity
45-75 days

Soil

Like light, loose, well drained, cool soil. Also love soil high in Potassium and Boron.

Spacing

Plant about an inch apart and thin to about 2-3 inches apart

Problems

Spinach Leaf Miner -

Scab - Can be controlled by not allowing the soil to dry out.

Internal Black Spot - Can be controlled by preventing Boron deficiencies.

Harvest

Greens and Beets can be eaten at any time the younger the better. If they over mature they get woody.

Pollination

None Required

Seed Information

Average about 2000 seeds/ounce. Beet seed are pieces of beet pulp and actually contains several seeds requiring you to thin.

Watering

Beets enjoy moist soil and frequent watering. Dry periods will cause woody beets.

Fertilizing

Beets benefit from plenty of Potassium and Boron
