- Like light, loose, well drained, cool soil high in organic matter.

- Transplant 4 weeks before last frost until 10 weeks before first frost.

- Problems
- Cabbage Worms and Loopers - Can
best be controlled with Bacillus thuringiensis. Floating row covers will also work.
- Cut Worms - Seedlings can be attacked by cut worms which can be prevent with a cut worm collar.
- Flea Beetles - Sometimes a problem with seedlings. Can be prevented with floating row covers or pyrethrin.

- Anytime before they get too big and split.

- Cabbage enjoy moist soil and frequent watering. A good layer of mulch will help maintain evenness in soil moisture.
