Cauliflower

Soil: Like light, loose, well drained, cool soil high in organic matter.
Planting Time: Transplant around last frost date until 10 weeks before first frost.
Spacing: Plant about 12 to 15 inches apart.
Problems: Cabbage Worms and Loopers - Can best be controlled with Bacillus thuringiensis. Floating row covers will also work.; Cut Worms - Seedlings can be attacked by cut worms which can be prevent with a cut worm collar.; Flea Beetles - Sometimes a problem with seedlings. Can be prevented with floating row covers or pyrethrin.
Harvest: When the head is tight and firm before the flowerets start to spread.
Pollination: Not Required.
Seed Information: 7000 seeds/ounce.
Watering: Cauliflower enjoy moist soil and frequent watering. A good layer of mulch will help maintain evenness in soil moisture.
Fertilizing: Cauliflower benefits from some Nitrogen.
