Onions

Soil: Enjoys moist sandy stone free loam soil.
Planting Time: About 4 weeks before last frost date. Start indoors about 8 weeks before.
Spacing: 1 inch apart, then thin and eat.
Problems: Not Many - If you keep them mulched and watered you will get onions. Onions will keep pest away.
Harvest: When the stems start to fall over and die, knock them all over. Harvest about 2 weeks later.
Pollination: Not Required.
Seed Information: 5000 seeds/ounce.
Watering: Onions enjoy moist soil and frequent watering. A good layer of mulch will help maintain evenness in soil moisture.
Fertilizing: Avoid heavy Nitrogen fertilizers.
