Soybean Burgers
Great alternative to ground beef..
- 1 cup of cooked soybeans or any other bean
- 1 cup of cooked rice
- 1 cup of ground sunflower seeds or oatmeal
- 1/2 cup of whole wheat bread crumbs
- 2 Tbs. of finely chopped onion or shallot
- 1/4 cup of shredded carrot
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp. of fresh basil
- 1/2 tsp. of fresh oregano
- 1/2 tsp. of chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. of cumin
Optional:
- Cheese, any type of cheese
Mix all the ingredients together. Form into burger patties and fry in a little oil. Top with cheese if you would like. Serve on whole wheat bun with slice of tomato, lettuce or sprouts, and salad dressing of your choice.
